Therapy
Compression therapy involves the use of tightly fitted sleeves or garments that you slip over the affected area to apply directed pressure to the injured tissues.
What to Expect with Compression Therapy
Compression therapy is a proven technique that utilizes targeted pressure to enhance circulation and reduce muscle soreness and fatigue. By applying gentle pressure to the affected muscle areas, this therapy promotes faster recovery and improved athletic performance.
Many people are familiar with the idea of using compression therapy on the legs (particularly the calves) with compression socks and other similar things, but we actually have a wide range of compression sleeves that can go over the arms, thighs, and hips as well. At your initial FNMT appointment, after the massage therapy portion, you’ll be shown which size and type of sleeve will best fit you, how to put it on, and how to plug it into the machine that controls the pressure. Since you control the machine, you control the amount of pressure to best fit your comfort level.
